so many changes!

forgive me. i have fallen short on this blog… miserably short. so much has changed since we last visited!

let’s see — i’ve myself a fiance, a new kitten AND a baby boy on the way! and, all in that order. . . well sort of. dylan proposed to me in mid-July, we adopted our little flamepoint kitten on labor day & found out i was pregnant in late september. the pregnancy started out rather yucky (as i hear most of them do), but it’s been happily eventless since about week 14.  i am currently 2 days shy of week 28, due on april 5. oh, and i am absolutely head over heels for this boy already. seriously. i watch my belly dance with his movements, and my heart just swells.

as far as the kitten goes, let me just tell you — he is a DOLL. as wild and uncuddly as binx is, baker is completely the opposite. the first few days he was home with us, he basically just purred & made dough, not even bothering to eat. this kitten was ready to live on love alone. hence, the moniker ‘baker’ for his affection for dough-making.

suffice it to say, i am positively surrounded by boys and i could not ask for more.

on the photo front, i’ve many exciting things going on. dylan has become my full-time assistant, we’ve some gigs lined up & i am very anxious to see what all 2012 will hold for by heart photography.

a blog is born.

hello, world.

this is my first foray into the blogging realm.  it is my wish that you enjoy what happens here & my request that you bear with me as i find my footing.  let’s get to know one another, share a few giggles, stumble upon inspirations … you know what they say about the possibilities.

this inaugural post finds me sharing the sofa with my darling kitten, binx.  i’ve quite the affinity for black male cats, and am the proud mom of 2 — chubby, age 16 and binx, age 4 months.

my home is relatively new to me, having moved in but a month ago and one perk of this new abode (i hate to admit) is cable television. for the last 3 years, i have lived tv-free (discounting countless hours of instant streaming via netflix), yet in one short month, an old addiction has reasserted itself. food network. i am a sucker for it — there is something infinitely soothing about the melange of food, information, chopping, etc. anyways, i say that to say this — binx and i are on the sofa, with the requisite food network programming as our soundtrack for this blog’s maiden voyage.

i’ve been working (for entirely too long) on producing some business cards for by heart photography. what — with the packing, move and unpacking, time has escaped me.  i would love nothing more than to see BHP flourish into a pursuit that can be as financially sustaining as it is pleasurable. the point is : the cards are coming, people.

as you may have noticed, my portfolio could certainly be considered a burgeoning one. this, friends, is good news for you. i’m willing to be super negotiable on shoots as i build my business. you know you are looking for a fresh, skilled photographer for that special event or engagement. those frames filling your walls and tabletops are screaming for something new & artsy. let’s help one another out, eh??
